Hi, I’m Rachel.

​

I’m a specialist speech and language therapist. I have worked across hospital and community services, including a specialist neurorehabilitation unit, stroke units and in people’s own homes.

​

I work with people with communication and swallowing difficulties from a range of conditions including stroke, brain injury, brain cancer, Parkinson’s disease, Multiples Sclerosis and dementia.

​

I have set up Speech Therapy Lincs Ltd so I can provide high-quality, person-centred care for people with communication and swallowing difficulties. I am based in Lincoln and will travel across Lincolnshire and east Nottinghamshire.

​

I also provide training packages, such as to groups vulnerable to developing voice disorders, as I believe this is important preventative work.

​

In the coming months I will begin to offer more services to support and empower people with communication and swallowing difficulties.

Training

I have attended the following courses recently:

Cervical Auscultation by Quest Training (This enables me to use a stethoscope to aid my swallowing assessments).

Locked-In Syndrome Study Day by Royal Hospital for Neurodisability (This involved learning more about Locked-In Syndrome and speech and language therapy input for this condition).

The Management of Complex Tracheostomy in Long Term Brain Injury by the Royal Hospital for Neurodisability (This involved learning more about tracheostomies and how this impacts swallowing).
